The movie begins on the night of August 3, 2013, with Jose, a convicted person, running away from the police for killing his brother-in-law. In an attempt to hide, he hides behind a police station under construction, and watches Georgekutty emerge from the site with a spade in hand. Jose apologized to his wife, then he was arrested and arrested by the police.
Six years later, Georgekutty, Rani, Anju and Anu have a prosperous life. Georgekutty, now a cinema owner, aspires to produce a movie, despite objections from his family. He frequently contacted Vinayachandran, a famous screenwriter living in Kochi, to develop scripts for his projects. Despite her peaceful family, Anju suffers from epilepsy and is currently a PTSD patient as a result of her fear of being arrested in connection with Varun's murder. Jealous of the family's stormy rise in wealth, Georgekutty's neighbors began spreading rumors that tarnished their image, especially that of Anju, causing Rani to suffer. Georgekutty WLMan regularly travels to cities like Kochi and Chennai to plan filmmaking, prompting him to form a drinking habit. Rani's only comforting source is her friendly neighbor Saritha, a government secretary who is often abused by her drunk husband, Sabu, a real estate broker. The couple bought 1 acre out of 5 acres from Georgekutty two years ago and moved there.
The local police, who received much humiliation for not being able to resolve Varun's disappearance, decided to reopen the case, under the supervision of Kerala East IG Thomas Bastin IPS, a junior and friend of Geetha . , Georgekutty WLifeManPPPPPPPP in his theater. Prabakar begged Georgekutty to reveal the location of Varun's body so that he could perform the funeral rites for his son, but to no avail. Anu returns home for a spring break and holds a sleeping party with her friends, in which Rani protests when Anu is said to have told her boyfriend a secret. One night, she tells Saritha her fear of getting caught and inadvertently obscures the fact that Anju is indeed involved in Varun's death. Unknown to Rani and her family, Saritha and Sabu are actually married underground policemen assigned by Bastin to explore the location of Varun's body. Among his other spies were Anu's boyfriend, Bastin's nephew.
Jose was released from WLife Prison, and struggled to find work. After overhearing Georgekutty's case from residents of the town, he recalled seeing him at the unfinished police station at the time and quickly giving the police a hefty sum of money. Bastin informed Geetha and Prabhakar, who were coming from America to oversee the new case. Authorities secretly unearthed the police station, eventually uncovering a human skeleton. Georgekutty learns of these events through surveillance cameras. He and his family were later arrested and questioned by the police, by court order. To make matters worse, Rani's earlier revelation to Saritha has been recorded; Saritha and Sabu overheard Georgekutty's house. Geetha suspects the chaos that led to Anju having another seizure and she is transferred to the hospital, while Georgekutty is further investigated.
Frustrated, Georgekutty came up with a fabricated story in which he was Varun's only murderer and killed him after mistaking Varun for a thief hiding in his home. Georgekutty claims he preserved the evidence like Varun's clothes, which of course would save the rest of his family in court. Bastin convinces Geetha to initially trap Georgekutty, gather evidence and then accuse his wife and Anju for hiding the evidence. After the family was given away for the day, they reflected on their supposedly bleak future. The next morning, Georgekutty was formally arrested and when brought to court, Vinayachandran met Bastin, Geetha and Prabhakar. He revealed that, at Georgekutty's suggestion, their script was published as a Drishyam novel under the name Vinayachandran for copyright protection. In their novel, the hero succeeds in hiding his body, but when discovered, he makes a false confession to save his child. Bastin later realized that Georgekutty's recorded confession coincided with Drishyam's conspiracy. In court, Georgekutty pleaded not guilty, and his lawyer argued that the police used the book's plot to frame him. The police were shocked when the results of the DNA test on the human skeleton did not match the DNA of Varun.
Stunned, Vinayachandran revealed that Georgekutty had an alternate climax for his film, in which the hero, trying to evade his arrest, will learn about the procedures to be followed when there is such a skeleton. found at that site, district Idukki. The hero will then buy back the skeleton of another young man who died with the same wounds as Varun's by befriending a grave pumper in the distance. He will make more friends with the security staff of the local medical facility's forensic laboratory, which will conduct forensic tests on the discovered skeleton. On the day the original skeleton is dug up and sent to the lab, the hero will discreetly transfer the victim's skeleton to the place where he bought and cremate the original skeleton, thereby destroying all of them. alibi.
According to Vinayachandran, it could be seen that Georgekutty had followed suit. Without evidence of a potential crime, Georgekutty was released on bail. His lawyers have asked the court to direct the police to stop proceedings against Georgekutty while he is moving to the Supreme Court to stop all proceedings against him. The judge called Bastin into his room and told him there was no way to punish Georgekutty.
Georgekutty then discreetly handed Varun's ashes to Geetha and Prabhakar, who had completed their son's final ritual on a river. Bastin met the couple and urged them to end their quarrel with Georgekutty, as they would never succeed in punishing him and he has begun to plan for Kerala Police's next attempt. Bastin said Georgekutty's off guard itself was a huge penalty; he must live every day with constant supervision, vigilance and guilt. The couple seemed to agree with him. , Georgekutty, WLifeMan watching the trio from afar, quietly left.
