HAVE A SONG ON YOUR LIPS (2015) SYNOPSIS

Yuri Kashiwagi (played by Yui Aragaki) is said to be a genius Piano who returns to his hometown on Goto Island (or Goto Islands) as a temporary high school music teacher. Her former teacher, also her friend, Haruko, had to take time off to give birth. She is assigned to lead the school's choir team to participate in the NCon competition, a choir competition organized by the NHK Association.

However, her presence attracted the attention of male students, which was considered bad for the choir, in the opinion of captain Nazuna (played by Yuri Tsunematsu). The male students refused to practice and were always disruptive, causing Nazuna to report to Ms. Kashiwagi, but the young teacher ignored all complaints. During an argument with the male students, she made them fight each other when a boy blurted out bad words about her father.

Yuri has never played the piano since coming to her new school. She always hesitated when she was about to press the keys, and not once were the keys pressed down. When asked by the student, Kashiwagi let out an arrogant speech that made the students all very uncomfortable.

The male students, after being criticized, practiced diligently, under the guidance of a talented vocalist of the boy Satoru Kuwahara. He has an autistic brother, Akio Kuwahara (Daichi Watanabe). Every day, he always had to come home early to pick up his brother and couldn't join the practice with his friends. Satoru asked his mother to pick up his brother, but his father stopped him and told him to stop the choir. Thanks to his mother, Kuwahara was able to continue singing.

To prepare for singing practice, Yuri asked the students to write a letter to themselves 15 years later. No one takes the test seriously, except Satoru. He talked about his brother in the letter. Kuwahara also emphasized on his presence in the world, which is to take care of his brother when his parents are gone. Those words caught Kashiwagi's attention towards him.

Due to not being able to withstand Yuri's arrogance, Nazuna spoke to former teacher Haruko, and was told everything by her. Kashiwagi used to be a very active person, but after the death of her lover, Yuri became quiet and never dared to touch the keyboard again. The student who understood the story was about to comfort the teacher, but couldn't make Kashiwagi play the piano. Nazuna herself had a broken family, her mother died due to illness, and her father left with someone else. The captain confided about his family to Yuri, then ran up to the rooftop to cry. The music teacher suddenly understood, fingers began to dance on the keys.

Finally, the test day came, after much effort to prepare, they also completed their test well when performing the song Letter to the Age of 15 (Tegami). Satoru's family came to watch, but his father and brother were sitting outside. After completing the test, the team members were delighted to hear that Ms. Haruko had delivered a healthy baby. Nazuna quietly walked over to a corner, and Kuwahara's brother approached, saying the words her mother had once said to her son when he was a child. The reason Akio belonged to these words was because he was in the same place when her mother confided in her. Nazuna understood, thank you. Suddenly, Akio went mad when she couldn't hear her brother's song. Ms. Yuri and Nazuna and the entire choir sang a song for her brother Satoru (another song). Akio happily danced to the music.

The movie ends with Kashiwagi leaving the island and the students' arms waving to her. Then there is the lyrics of Tegami sung by Aki Angela herself.
