Taken 2 (English title: Taken 2) is a 2012 American-French action-psychological film directed by Olivier Megaton. This is a sequel to the 2008 action film Taken. The film still stars Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen.
In Tropojë, Albania, mafia boss Murad Hoxha holds a funeral for his son Marko, who was killed by Bryan Mills in the previous film. Murad vows to avenge his son. He and his subordinates went to Paris, tortured and interrogated Jean-Claude Pitrel, but got no information. Then Murad bribed an official and learned that Bryan Mills was in Istanbul.
Bryan just completed three days as a bodyguard for an Arab giant in Istanbul. He was surprised when he met his ex-wife Lenore and daughter Kim. While going out for lunch with Lenore, Bryan discovered Murad's subordinates were following them. He told Lenore to run away so that he could cut off the mafia, but in the end both were arrested. Realizing that Kim staying at the hotel was also a target, Bryan called Kim to ask her to hide. Kim successfully dodged when two mafia men were forced to flee after shooting and killing two security guards.
Bryan and Lenore were tied in a cellar. Bryan secretly used a small phone to call Kim, telling her to go to the US Embassy, but she asked to help her parents. Opening his father's equipment suitcase, Kim threw the grenade onto the nearby rooftop, the explosion allowed Bryan to guide Kim to his location.
Bryan and Lenore broke free from their ropes. Bryan dropped some smoke through the chimney to guide Kim to his location. Kim threw the gun down the chimney and Bryan used it to kill the mafia. He rescued Kim, and Lenore was arrested again. Bryan and Kim robbed a taxi, after a street chase, the father and son also reached the US Embassy.
Leaving Kim at the US embassy, Bryan began using his memory to find Murad's hideout. He rescued Lenore and killed all the mafia. Bryan wants to spare Murad's life, but Murad picks up his gun, intending to kill Bryan. Bryan kills Murad by smashing his head against a sharp hook on the wall.
