Underwater Love Is a 2011 pink musical film about a woman and a sea creature. It is a co-production between the German Rapid Eye Movies and the Japanese Kokuei Company. It was directed by Shinji Imaoka (who had previously directed the pink films Lunch Box and Frog Song), filmed by director of photography Christopher Doyle and includes music by the German band Stereo Total. Asuka, a woman in her thirties, works at a fish factory by the lake. She is about to marry her boss, Taki. But one day, she finds a kappa - a water goblin found in Japanese folklore - and discovers that the creature is actually the reborn form of Aoki, an old passion who drowned when they were 17.
